MEANWHILE is an artist-run initiative. Established in July 2016 and originally located at 35 Victoria Street, in early 2017 we relocated to Level 2 99 Willis Street, Te Aro, Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.
MEANWHILE facilitates and promotes emergent and experimental writing, curation and contemporary art practice, in all forms, on and offline.
Developed to nurture, support and promote the exceptional work of contemporary New Zealand and International artists. To challenge current understandings of the potential for contemporary art spaces, writing, curation and artistic practice.
MEANWHILE is both an artist run initiative and art studio space. We support positive growth and diversification for the Wellington Arts Community; providing local artists a studio space to produce work and early career artists a space to exhibit, unrestrained by geographic location.
MEANWHILE also hosts third party events between our exhibition schedule.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to organise an event with us.
MEANWHILE would not be able to open its doors as often as we do without the support of our dedicated volunteers:
MEANWHILE is a finalist in the "Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards 2017" (Arts and Culture category), which recognises valuable contributions of volunteers to community groups across the Wellington Region.
